Have you considered an estate gift to the Lima Rescue Mission that would support the Mission after your personal needs are met? Bequests from individuals have been important over the years, not only for general operating expenses, but for advancement and expansion of our ministries as well. A charitable gift by will is a wonderful way to help reach out to people in need even after death. If you consider this type of gift, please think it through carefully. Then, meet with your attorney to discuss and create or update your will. Tell them exactly what you want to do. Be as clear as possible in describing what you want given to whom.
There are different options for making a bequest that you will want to discuss with your attorney as you prepare to update your will. Some of these include: general bequest, residual bequest, unrestricted bequest, and a restricted bequest. An unrestricted bequest is usually most helpful, as it allows us to determine the wisest use for the funds based on needs at the time of the gift. Your attorney will be able to help you decide which giving option is best for you.
