December ministry update

As a gospel-centered ministry, proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ is our priority. Caring for others is the result and evidence of what we believe. In our ministry, physical and spiritual care are inextricable.

Physical Care
Throughout this year, we have had a regular supply of food donated by local restaurants. We appreciate these donations which have enabled us to prepare a variety of meals. We continue to provide overnight shelter and transitional housing, and we have seen a small increase in our overnight shelter numbers recently.

Spiritual Care
We have heard multiple testimonies this year of men who were saved while attending gospel services in our chapel. Those who turn to us are usually carrying a heavy burden—but here they learn of salvation through Jesus Christ, and that He will give them rest. Thank you for remembering these men in prayer.

You make a difference!

Your support this month helps provide care for others year-round. Our goal is to raise $100,000 in December. You can donate online now and visit our online giving page again in the future to track progress toward our goal.

115 years—generations of caring

In our 115 years of ministry, there have been many families who have remained involved through multiple generations. We have heard from donors who started giving because their grandparents or parents gave and they know how much the ministry meant to them. We've also heard from older adults who recall coming to the Mission with their family or church to hold services when they were younger.

We're thankful for all the families who have supported Lima Rescue Mission over the years; this type of continuity has been a tremendous blessing. If you are the first in your family to support the Mission, we hope you will pass on the tradition of giving, ensuring that the ministry will be equipped to care for those in need for generations to come.

Prayer partners

We are grateful for those who take time to pray for our ministry. Here are some specific requests that you can remember as you pray:

  • That the hearts of those we serve will be open to the truth as the gospel is proclaimed
  • That those who are saved will be encouraged and strengthened as they grow in Christ
  • For the health and safety of staff, volunteers, and guests
  • For continued provision for operating expenses

If you have a prayer request, please feel free to share it with us and our staff will be happy to pray for you.
