Fall ministry update

Over the past year, the number of men coming in for supper has decreased significantly. Although there has been a slight increase recently, numbers are still below average. We have found that other organizations are providing meals as well, so there is no shortage of options for food if someone is truly in need.

We're thankful for the groups that continue to provide and serve meals on a regular basis. We've had new groups join us recently, and there are plenty of open days for others as well. If you would be interested in providing a meal, please contact us! This is a great way for church groups, co-workers, and families to get involved in serving others. Thank you for your continued prayers and support of our daily ministry!

Anniversary reflections

Perhaps one of the most notable things about our ministry is what hasn't changed over time—addictions, broken families, loss of hope—all things that continue in a fallen world. Over the years, we have seen so many men struggling with many issues. Some have told us that when they ended up here, they were at the lowest of the low in their life.

Regardless of the different problems people may be struggling with, there is one serious issue common to all of us—our sin and our need for a Savior. We believe that true spiritual healing takes place in Christ alone.

Throughout our history, our commitment to the gospel has not wavered. As Christians, we must stand firm in the faith, especially as we face opposition. It's not surprising—nor is it anything new—that Christian beliefs are under attack, but it is clear that people are more bold in opposing the truth. Of course those who do evil hate the truth, because it exposes them (John 3:19-20).

We need to shine as lights in the world (Philippians 2:15). We are here to proclaim the gospel and call others to repent and believe in Jesus Christ. That is the core of our ministry—and we believe there is no need to complicate something that is so clearly presented in Scripture.

We remain committed to upholding Biblical truth, proclaiming the gospel, and serving others in Jesus' name. We are so thankful for faithful friends who have supported this ministry for so many years. The investment you are making now has a lasting impact!

Employment opportunities

We currently have an opening for the part-time position of Cook at the Mission. This job requires a commitment of 2-3 hours on weekdays. Essential duties include planning and preparing meals, sorting donated food, and cleaning the kitchen and storage areas.

There is also an opening for the new position of Children's Ministry Coordinator. This job will be part-time during the school year and full-time during the summer. Responsibilities include maintaining contact with children and their families, holding occasional activities during the school year, planning and overseeing the summer day camp at Camp Roberts, and more. The person serving in this position will have a vital role in maintaining and growing our children's ministry.

We are also looking for people willing to serve as counselors at Camp Roberts next summer. We are preparing a brochure with more information about our children's ministry and the various openings for paid and volunteer positions.

Please visit limamission.org/employment for complete job descriptions and an employment application, or contact us to have this information mailed to you.
