Men's ministry testimony
A man who previously stayed in our overnight shelter recently took time to share his appreciation for the care he received while at the Mission. A portion of his letter is below:
"I write to you not only with gratitude, but with a heart that remembers. There was a season in my life when I had no place to go, no rest, and no peace within me. The nights were heavy, and my soul was burdened beyond words. Yet in that place of hardship, your doors were open. You gave me more than a bed—you gave me refuge. In the quiet of those nights, under your roof, I found a place where I could lay down not only my body, but my sorrow. Many times, I wept and cried out to God there. And I believe with all my heart that He heard me.
Your mission became a sanctuary in my wilderness. A place where the broken could come as they were, and not be turned away. Through your compassion, I began to understand something sacred—that even in my lowest state, God had not abandoned me. What you do is not small. It is not ordinary. It is deeply holy. You are standing in the gap for those who have nowhere else to stand. You are bearing witness to Christ not through words alone, but through mercy, patience, and love."
We appreciate hearing from people after the time they spent with us, and knowing that the ministry has had an impact. We are thankful for the opportunity to proclaim Christ daily and for those who make it possible.
Camp Roberts summer activities
Our summer camp ministry is scheduled to begin June 8th. We are currently making final preparations as we look forward to the summer ahead. We appreciate your prayers for staff, volunteers, and the children who will be attending. You can visit facebook.com/CampRoberts for updates throughout the summer.

Leadership spotlight: Board of Trustees
Lima Rescue Mission is governed by a Board of Trustees made up of dedicated Christian leaders who are committed to furthering ministry to the homeless and less fortunate in our community. The board is responsible for policy setting, fiscal management, spiritual direction and general oversight. In addition to oversight, the board provides valuable guidance. They review ministry reports, financial information and budgets and help determine the direction of programs and services. They are donors, volunteers, and community ambassadors. Their dedicated service allows the Mission to carry on a Christian ministry that addresses important needs in the community. Visit our leadership page to see a listing of current board members.
News and notes
- As part of their annual "Clash of Colors" competition, students at Temple Christian School collected cases of bottled water to donate to the Mission. We appreciate the generous and helpful gift!
- There are currently multiple projects taking place at Camp Roberts. A deck with built-in seating has been constructed and is awaiting installation in the woods at a location where multiple trails intersect. This will be used for picnics, prayer time, and other activities. A backup generator is also scheduled to be installed, which will provide power to the entire campground in case of an outage. This will allow important equipment such as the well pump and sewer pumps to remain operational.
- A new commercial range was installed in the kitchen at Camp Roberts in March. This replaced a 50-year-old unit which was failing. It includes 6 burners, 2 ovens, and a griddle. New lighting was also installed in the range hood.
- There are multiple opportunities to join us in serving or providing meals. If you are interested, please contact Chuck at 567-242-5601 or
