If you would like to drop off a donation, you may stop in front of our building on Wayne Street. Please note that Wayne Street was recently converted to two-way traffic. If you have a large amount of items to drop off, you may pull in to an unloading area behind our building on Central Avenue. The best time to drop off donations is weekdays from 9 AM - 4 PM. If another time works better for you, please call us at 419-224-6961 so we know to expect your visit.
Yes, we accept donations of men's clothing.
We are funded by donations; we do not receive government funds or funding from other agencies. In 2017, 78% of donations were from individuals, 14% from businesses, and 8% from churches.
We are a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, and your gift is tax deductible as allowed by law. Please consult a tax professional if you have additional questions regarding the deductibility of gifts.
No, we do not conduct any door-to-door fundraising. Our fundraising is done primarily via direct mail. If you are contacted by someone who is fundraising in our name, please notify us.

There is no fixed length of stay, it is determined on an individual basis. Level of need, attitude and behavior, willingness to make changes and showing progress toward goals are all factors that are considered.

There are many factors that can ultimately lead to homelessness, and it is different for every individual. Some causes include loss of job, mental illness, drug and alcohol addiction, and breakdown of relationships.
Rescue missions see homelessness as a symptom of other issues, and work to address those with each individual. We believe a relationship with Jesus Christ is the first step toward true healing and recovery.
In 2018, we provided 17,226 meals and 6,253 nights of lodging in our overnight shelter.

Lima Rescue Mission was founded November 1, 1906, and has been operating continuously since that time.
No person or entity owns Lima Rescue Mission. The Mission is incorporated under the laws of the State of Ohio and is governed by a Board of Trustees.
